ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi International Airport has announced the resumption of limited commercial flights starting today, March 6, amid Iran-US tensions following comprehensive security reviews and consultations with relevant authorities. The officials said an Abu Dhabi-based airline will initially operate flights to a select number of key cities as part of a phased restoration plan. Passengers with existing bookings will be accommodated on the new flights, while additional routes are expected to be added gradually as conditions improve. The airline authorities further stated that travelers holding tickets issued up to February 28 can rebook without any extra charges. Passengers scheduled to travel by March 21 are also eligible to request refunds if they wish. The airport officials have urged travelers to avoid arriving without a confirmed ticket or prior notification, emphasizing the importance of following airport guidelines to ensure smooth operations and passenger safety. The phased resumption of flights marks a cautious step toward restoring normal air travel from Abu Dhabi, balancing operational requirements with ongoing security considerations.
