RAWALPINDI – Pakistani security forces continue to conduct precise intelligence, troops moved swiftly across multiple districts, intercepting infiltrators at the border, storming militant hideouts in Lakki Marwat and Bannu, and engaging in fierce gun battles in Mir Ali and Sambaza. In sweeping and high-intensity crackdown, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces have killed 34 terrorists in a series of coordinated, intelligence-driven operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, dealing a major blow to militant networks operating in Pakistan. ISPR said these operations were launched over past several days with precision targeting groups Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. The state uses term Fitna Al Khwarij for militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), while Fitna Al Hindustan refers to terrorist organisations active in Balochistan. On February 24 alone, security forces neutralised 26 militants linked to Fitna Al Khwarij in four separate, high-stakes engagements across KP. In dramatic border encounter in North Waziristan, troops detected and intercepted a group attempting to infiltrate Pakistan through the Pak-Afghan border. A fierce exchange of fire followed, resulting in the death of one militant, later identified as an Afghan national. The heaviest blows were struck in Narmi Khel in Bannu district, where 10 militants were killed, and in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, where 12 more were eliminated after what officials described as heavy engagements. Security forces carried out another intelligence-led operation. After a sustained exchange of fire, eight militants affiliated with Fitna Al Hindustan were “successfully neutralised,” according to ISPR. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were said to have been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the region. The military reaffirmed that sanitisation operations are ongoing to track down and eliminate any remaining threats. “The security forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers,” the statement declared, vowing that operations would continue at full pace.
