American Lyceum, Pizza Delight among 54 sealed in Punjab capital

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 54 illegal commercial buildings and the premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in various housing schemes of the Punjab capital on Monday. LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 19 buildings in Gulberg and Faisal Town, 15 in Gulshan-e-Ravi, and 20 in Mustafa Town and Allama Iqbal Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees. The sealed premises include Pizza Delight, Cone Studio, American Lyceum, Pak Vision College, Lahore Public High School, Med Access, Pakeeza Hotel, Clipper Beauty Salon, grocery stores, private clinic, pharmacies, restaurants, offices, and other businesses. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, supervised the operations. LDA’s enforcement and security teams carried out these operations with the assistance of the Police. According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before carrying out these operations. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against violations of building bylaws, land grabbers, illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercialisation fees in Lahore’s housing schemes.
