Another big dip: Gold prices drop by Rs25,500 per tola in Pakistan

KARACHI – Gold and silver prices on Saturday recorded another massive dip in Pakistan in line with volatility in international market amid profit-taking rally by investors despite boiling tensions between the US and Iran. The Sarafa Association reported a drop of Rs25,500 in the per tola price of gold, bringing it down to Rs511,862. Over the past two days, the price has decreased by Rs61,000, with a Rs35,500 decline on Friday alone. In international market, the precious commodity saw a significant drop of $255 to $4,895 per ounce. Experts said nervous investors sought to secure profits as expectations for significant US interest rate cuts diminished and the dollar remained stable. A day earlier, President Donald Trump announced that he had selected former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh to lead the US central bank. The dollar index, which tracks the U.S. currency against others, strengthened in anticipation of Warsh’s appointment. Silver Prices in Pakistan Today Silver prices also tumbled in Pakistan as per tola recorded a decrease of Rs2,063, bringing new rate to Rs9,006.
