Apple is set to introduce its most affordable iPhone of 2026 at a special event on March 4, the company sources and industry reports confirmed on Tuesday. While Apple has not officially disclosed the event’s agenda, multiple leaks indicate that the new device will be the iPhone 17 E, the successor to last year’s iPhone 16 E. The iPhone 17 E will start at $599, making it Apple’s entry-level smartphone for the year. In terms of design, it closely resembles the iPhone 16 E but will feature several notable upgrades. One of the most significant changes is the selfie camera, which is expected to adopt Apple’s Dynamic Island design. Unlike the iPhone 16 E, where the front camera is hidden in a notch, the new model is likely to feature a pill-shaped cutout, offering a sleeker look. Under the hood, the device will be powered by Apple’s A19 processor, also used in the iPhone 17, ensuring high performance comparable to premium models. The iPhone 17 E will also support fast MagSafe charging, replacing the standard wireless charging of its predecessor. Connectivity is set to improve with the addition of Apple’s C1 5G modem for faster data speeds and energy efficiency as well as the N1 wireless chip, enhancing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance. With these upgrades, the iPhone 17 E is likely to provide a balance of affordability and advanced features, that appeal to the users looking for Apple’s latest technology at a lower price point.
