Australia announces new scholarships for Pakistani students

ISLAMABAD – Australia has announced scholarship for Pakistani students with session commencing in 2027. The Australia Awards program is designed to assist partner nations in reaching their development objectives by providing educational opportunities, facilitating knowledge sharing, and fostering long-term partnerships with Australia. The initiative empowers future leaders with the essential skills, connections, and experiences to drive sustainable progress and promote global collaboration. Fields of study Fields of study that promote the Sustainable Development Goals and others are offered under the scholarship. Following are some examples of the field of study: Agriculture and Rural Development Business Management (including MBA) Development Studies Disaster Management/Preparedness Disability Studies Economics Education Energy and Renewables Environmental Policy/Climate Change Adaptation Finance Food Security Gender Studies Human Rights Integrated Water Resources Management (including Engineering) International Trade International and/or Human Rights Law International Relations International Law Mining (including Engineering) Peace and Conflict Studies Public Policy and/or Administration Public Health & Nutrition policies Sanitation and Clean Drinking Water Women’s Studies Level of study The Australia Awards scholarships offer Pakistani citizens the chance to pursue a master’s degree at an Australian higher education institution. These scholarships are available for studies beginning in 2027. Benefits of Australia Scholarships Australia Awards scholarships cover the minimum duration required for the recipient to complete their designated academic program, including any necessary preparatory courses, as determined by the Australian educational institution. Scholarship recipients will receive the following: return air travel a one-off establishment allowance on arrival full tuition fees contribution to living expenses introductory academic program overseas student health cover for the duration of the scholarship Australia Awards scholarships information for study commencing in 2027 supplementary academic support, fieldwork allowance for research students and masters by coursework which has a compulsory fieldwork component. Eligibility criteria In addition to the eligibility requirements, candidates from Pakistan must also meet the following conditions: be a Pakistani citizen currently residing in Pakistan and applying for the scholarship from Pakistan not be a citizen of Australia, hold permanent residency in Australia or be applying for a visa to live in Australia permanently have completed 16 years of education and five years of relevant work experience in Pakistan not be more than 45 years of age at the time of submitting the application submit a Development Impact and Linkages Plan, which outlines clear objectives and motivations to contribute to development in Pakistan, return to Pakistan at the completion of their study for at least two years. People with disability who meet the eligibility criteria can apply with an IELTS score of 6.0, with no band lower than 5.0. If selected, they must take another English Language Proficiency test arranged by Australia Awards – Pakistan and achieve the required score before starting the scholarship. Applicants cannot study in Australia under this program if they have already completed an equivalent qualification.
