The visit commemorates 70 years of diplomatic ties and is the first by a Pakistani prime minister to Austria in more than three decades, since Nawaz Sharif’s 1992 visit. The premier will engage in high-level bilateral and delegation-level talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker, aiming to expand cooperation in politics, trade, and economic development. Accompanying him are top officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Special Assistant Syed Tariq Fatemi, and Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch, reflecting the strategic importance of this trip. PM is set to address the Pakistan-Austria Business Forum, hosted by the Austrian Economic Chamber, where discussions will focus on trade, investment, and strengthening economic ties between the two nations. Highlighting Pakistan’s global engagement, PM Shehbaz will participate in a UN special event under the theme “Sustainable Development: the Path to Global Peace and Prosperity,” reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to multilateral cooperation. Additionally, the prime minister will meet leaders of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), UN Office on Drugs and Crime, and the UN Industrial Development Organization, tackling issues ranging from peaceful nuclear energy and counter-narcotics to crime prevention and sustainable industrial growth.
