KARACHI – Working hours for all public and private banks will be reduced for holy month of Ramadan 2026 in Pakistan. The holy month of Ramadan is anticipated to begin on Thursday, February 19, 2026, or Friday, February 20, 2026, depending on the sighting of the moon in Pakistan. If Shaban lasts for 29 days, Ramadan will commence on February 19. However, if Shaban extends to 30 days, Ramadan will begin on February 20. The moon sighting, which marks the beginning of the Islamic month of Ramadan, is expected to take place on the evening of February 18. If the crescent moon is sighted, Ramadan will begin the following day, February 19. If the moon is not visible, Ramadan will start on February 20. Bank Office Hours in Ramadan It is expected that the office hours from Monday to Thursday will be from 09:00 AM to 03:00 PM, without any break. On Fridays, the office will operate from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM, without a break. Banking Public Dealing Hours For public dealing, the banking hours will be from Monday to Thursday, 09:00 AM to 02:00 PM, without any break. On Fridays, banks will remain open from 09:00 AM to 12:30 PM, without a break. These revised office and business hours are in effect for the duration of the month of Ramadan and aim to accommodate the fasting schedule of employees and customers. After the conclusion of holy month, the timings will revert to the standard pre-Ramadan hours.
