Big relief announced for intermediate students in Punjab ahead of exams 2026

LAHORE – In a major relief to students, the Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons (PBCC) has extended the admission schedule for the High School Secondary Certificate (HSSC) or intermeidate 1st Annual Examinations 2026. According to the revised schedule, the HSSC Part-II (1st Annual) Examination 2026 will commence on May 20, 2026. Admission Schedule Single Fee: Students can submit the admission forms from January 19, 2026 to February 19, 2026. The previous deadline was February 11, 2026. Double Fee: Forms with double fee will be accepted from February 20, 2026 to March 2, 2026, instead of the earlier schedule from February 12, 2026 to February 24, 2026. Triple Fee: The revised dates for submission with triple fee are March 3, 2026 to March 12, 2026. Previously, the deadline was from February 25, 2026 to March 9, 2026. Intermediate Part 1 and 2 Results Dates The tentative result declaration date for HSSC Part-I (11th Class) is September 23, 2026, while the result for HSSC Part-II (12th Class) is expected to be announced on October 22, 2026. Biometric Registration for Exams 2026 All Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs) in Punjab has made the biometric attendance mandatory for matric and intermediate examinations. “You are hereby informed that, in accordance with the directions of Mr. Muzammil Mahmood, Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Task Force on Examinations reforms, and the instructions issued by the Higher Education / School Education Department, Punjab, biometric attendance of all candidates has been made mandatory at all examination centers established under the jurisdiction of the Boards,” read the letter sent by the BISE Lahore to headmasters and principals of all public and private institutions. “For this purpose, during the registration process of Class IX (SSC) and Class XI (HSSC), live scanning of fingerprints of both thumbs of all candidates shall be compulsory,” it added. The board has directed all educational institutions to ensure the completion of the arrangements. It said the head of the institution shall ensure the arrangement of a device at the institutional level for thumb scanning of candidates, strictly in accordance with the technical specifications issued by the Board. “The institution shall arrange a laptop for the biometric verification process. The biometric scanning process shall be carried out through the software/application provided by the Board,” the official letter. Thumb impressions of both hands of all candidates must be scanned at the time of registration. Any negligence or delay in this regard shall be the sole responsibility of the Head of Institution, the board warned.
