BISP Kafalat payment increased to Rs14,500 – Ramadan 2026

ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided to increase the quarterly financial assistance provided to the beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) in holy month of Ramadan 2026. BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid confirmed that 10 million deserving families across the country will receive enhanced financial support during the holy month. She said the BISP Kafalat, Taleemi Wazaif and other beneficiaries will receive the increased amount. What is BISP Kafalat The BISP Kafalat initiative, which was launched in 2008, has emerged as the largest single cash transfer programme in Pakistan’s history. It has both short and long-term objectives. The short term objective of the initiative is to protect marginalised people from negative effects of higher inflation, food crisis and poor economic growth. The long term objective of program is to eradicate extreme and chronic poverty, along with women empowerment, as set out in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Latest statistics show financial assistance is provided to around 10 million deserving families across the country. BISP Kafalat Quarterly Installment February 2026 The BISP chairperson revealed that the quarterly stipend under the Benazir Kafalat Program will be increased from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500, with disbursement set for Ramadan. Senator Khalid also announced an additional Rs500 for the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif Program. Similarly, a Rs500 increase has been approved for the Benazir Nashonuma Program, which provides nutritional support and financial aid to pregnant and breastfeeding women. 8171 SMS for Installment Status The BISP beneficiaries can check the status of their installment of Rs14,500 by sending their 13-digit CNIC number to the official code 8171. They will receive instant reply with their payment status.
