Anguish of Iranian masses is evident from the huge protests which erupted with fiery emotions amid the Martyrdom of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. This high-profile assassination of Iran’s supreme leader has escalated the war and strongly pushed whole Middle East region in a serious crisis. Brutal and rogue nature of the assassination has fueled the public sentiments in large part of Muslim Ummah against the US-Israel alliance. Questions are being raised on the dangerous precedence of targeting the head of sovereign country along with close blood relatives. In this particular case, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was assassinated along with his daughter, grandson and son in law. Obviously, Israel and USA have blatantly violated the international laws and universally known conventions criminalizing the targeting of sovereign state leaders and officials in the name of national security. Iran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel and US military bases have taken a wide part of Gulf region in the loop of war. Public sentiments in the Muslim World are seemingly in favor of Iran. Besides brutal targeting of Supreme Leader and top state officials, joint Israel-US strikes on a school led to the killing of 165 student girls in Southern Iran. Such merciless act of killing non-combatants and school going girls has multiplied the public anger against ‘rogue Israel’ and its all-weather backer US. Intensity of protests all over the Islamic World including Pakistan, immediately after listening the confirmation of Ayatollah Khamenei’s tragic martyrdom, is an indicator of anti-Israel wave. No justification for the heinous war crimes of Israel may soften up the public mood in Muslim countries. A few strange developments linked to the undesired Israeli strikes are being scrutinized by the unbiased analysts at various platforms. First one is a highly misleading story of American paper Washington Post titled ‘Push from Saudis, Israel Helped Move Trump to Attack Iran’. Contrary to the ground facts, Washington Post has painted a wrong scenario by accusing Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of lobbying for strikes alongside Israel. Prima facea this inauthentic story is not making any sense except stirring chaos and division among the Muslim countries. Diplomatic representative of Saudi embassy in USA has categorically rejected the misleading part of Washington Post story and reminded about the sincere efforts of Riyadh for peaceful resolution of the crisis through diplomatic engagements. While the public sentiments are at boil against the Israel-US war misadventure, this obvious fabricated story seems a well-thought-out propaganda campaign to divert the attention and create a wedge among Muslim countries by exploiting old fault lines. Both Iran and KSA have risen much above the petty sectarian and geo-political controversies as evident from significant normalization of ties in 2023. Apparently, this false story of Washington Post is serving the purpose of ‘Netanyahu regime’ which always seeks cracks in Muslim World. Second unusual development was the presence of Indian PM Narender Modi in Tel Aviv where he expressed solidarity with the ‘genocidal Israeli Regime’ with agenda of Shia-Sunni division in Muslim Ummah. Modi could not utter a single world in condemnation of Gaza atrocities. Heads of sensible Indians hanged in shame once their PM expressed solidarity with the killers of Palestinians. Modi has taken refuge from the old Indian stance which was in favor of establishment of Palestinian state. While standing alongside a war criminal like Netanyahu Prime Minister Modi has embarrassed the saner quarters of India. His obsession with anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan elements got more exposed once Modi sought Israeli support for the illegitimate Afghan Taliban regime deeply involved in cross-border terrorism inside Pakistan. By connecting the dots, one can fairly comprehend that how hypocritically Modi betrayed Iran in the hour of need and tried to stab Pakistan by instigating Afghan Taliban for coordinated attacks on border check posts. India-Israel nexus has emerged as a renewed challenge to the peace of Middle East and South Asia.
