BRI, Xi’s Global Initiatives and Moral Rot in US Capitalism

2026-02-25 - 21:53

Chinese Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) is passing through a difficult phase because of the US-sponsored and instigated new world (dis-)order, the aggressive push for economic protectionism and the ongoing trade and tariff war, especially against China and its allies. Nevertheless, the BRI and Xi Jinping’s four global initiatives of development, security, civilization and governance are striving hard to create and maintain strategic balance against US capitalism, which has now decayed, as reflected in the declassification of the Epstein Files, exposing the hollowness of its so-called modern financial system. Thus, the blessings of the BRI confront the moral rot in US capitalism, particularly in Latin America, Africa and the Asia-Pacific. Unfortunately, the Epstein Files have badly exposed the unholy alliance between greedy politicians and businessmen in the US system, dominated by cartels and cronies. Ultimately, the concentration of wealth has remained static and systematically tilted towards influential politicians, manipulated economists, mysterious financial corporations and corrupt industrialists, harming numerous sectors of the macro-economy. Their global outreach has destroyed the fabric of economic globalization, a just trading system and, last but not least, the fair and free movement of commodities by attacking Venezuela, threatening Brazil, Cuba and Peru and propagating false notions of decoupling, delinking and overcapacity regarding China and many other countries around the globe. Hence, Epstein has become a symbol of the profound moral bankruptcy of American financial capitalism in its search for undesirable means to compete in international markets. On the other hand, the BRI and Xi’s global initiatives are based on shared prosperity, equality, justice, multiculturalism, respect for ethnic diversity and peaceful conflict resolution through dialogue, diplomacy and development. Epstein’s hidden operations demonstrate a system that enshrines profit above human values and blindly pursues heinous crimes against ordinary people. In contrast, Xi’s global initiatives guarantee human values, free will, protection of basic rights and provision of essential life necessities for all. Thus, the BRI and Xi’s initiatives consistently promote pro-people policies, plans and projects while rejecting the supremacy of mere profits. Evidently, Epstein constructed a complex financial architecture of offshore vehicles and opaque trusts through complicit politicians and economists, demonstrating utter detachment from ethical constraints and commodifying even fundamental rights and dignity. This represents a gross violation of human rights and a defamation of humanism. Whereas, the BRI and Xi’s initiatives support a fair financial system, transparency, openness and human values, facilitating social development across member countries, curbing poverty, ignorance and discrimination, and steering societies towards connectivity, prosperity and better quality of life. Furthermore, Epstein has become an iconic symbol of privilege, enjoying a life divorced from ordinary people, benefiting from systemic flaws in US governance, where political landscapes are blackmailed by wealthy donors to finance successive campaigns. As a result, the system has been repeatedly compromised. Comparatively, the BRI and Xi’s initiatives are derived from the CPC’s people-friendly policies, implemented through a coordinated and consultative grassroots governance model and the formation of the world’s largest social system. Therefore, China enjoys broader societal cohesion and democratic norms. The Epstein Files vividly reflect the indulgence of privileged elites operating in shadows, exploiting hidden networks to achieve business gains with hawkish political support. Frankly, Xi’s initiatives have become ladders for economic wonders, creating development miracles and spreading light in the lives of poor communities worldwide by reducing extreme poverty, removing discrimination, empowering women and creating jobs. It is indeed a US debt trap of morality, corroding humanity, exploiting women and girls, and reflecting the bankruptcy of the rule of law, governance, accountability and transparency alongside deteriorating social fabric. In contrast, Xi’s initiatives and the Spring Festival spirit stand for family reunion, respect for women and parents, trust, true love and decency, unlike the draconian US system. These developments have serious socio-economic and geopolitical ramifications for the American system of governance. The Epstein scandal provides a clear glimpse into a system where the rule of law has been hollowed out to serve as decoration for elites. It has become a ticking time bomb, threatening to destroy what remains of public trust in core institutions. This realization has dealt a severe blow to the US judicial system, already weakened by political misuse. The Epstein affair may well be radioactive enough to trigger a systemic meltdown. In summary, the BRI and Xi’s four global initiatives are transforming crises into opportunities, tears into smiles, depression into development and economic isolation into meaningful connectivity among participating countries. According to China’s Foreign Ministry, over 100 countries and several international organizations have supported or taken part in the GDI, while more than 80 countries have joined the Group of Friends of the GDI. Both the BRI and GDI promote development and sustainable peace, particularly in Africa, ensuring equal dividends for all. The launch of a US$4 billion Global Development and South-South Cooperation Fund has uplifted marginalized groups and addressed systemic development gaps, emphasizing actionable policies and results-driven projects. The GSI underscores the role of international organizations in just global governance by supporting economic globalization, international cooperation and greater engagement with the Global South, reinforcing the strategic expansion and broader objectives of the BRI. It focuses on sovereignty, equality, territorial integrity and the peaceful settlement of disputes. It successfully fostered friendship between Saudi Arabia and Iran, putting the Middle East on a path of collective security, stability and productivity. Moreover, its multidimensional peace proposal for the Russia-Ukraine conflict won many hearts and challenged ongoing Western proxy strategies. Based on service to the people and respect for humanity, the GCI promotes global peace and harmony, progress and prosperity of all civilizations. While advocating interfaith harmony, transitional tolerance and respect for others, it supports modernization with a futuristic vision for sustainable bilateral relations and meaningful multilateral engagement. Frankly, the GGI vividly reflects China’s constructive, participatory role in global governance, rectifying fault lines and introducing consultative diplomacy to promote peace, political stability, geopolitical sustainability and geo-strategic harmony worldwide, resolving conflicts through dialogue, diplomacy and development instead of destruction and debris.
