LAHORE – The traffic police in Punjab have paced up the process of issuing driving licenses to the citizens under its campaign to ensure implementation of traffic laws. Officials said more than 1.24 million driving licenses were issued during January 2026 alone. This includes over 440,000 learning licenses, 400,000 regular driving licenses, and renewals for around 390,000 citizens, covering learning, regular, and international licenses. Additionally, more than 2,500 citizens applied for replacements of lost driving licenses, and over 4,500 international driving permits were issued. DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazir, emphasized the importance of holding a valid driving license, stating that driving without one is considered a criminal offense and can lead to heavy fines and strict legal actions. He also highlighted that the e-driving license has the same legal standing as a physical card, encouraging citizens to take full advantage of this convenient service. Car Driving License Fee February 2026 The fee for one-year car driving license include Rs150 in wake of Test fee, Rs1,350 in wake of fee paid after passing the test, Rs480 in wake of courier fee, bringing total cost of the license to Rs1980.
