Casualties feared in Islamabad Imambargah explosion: reports

ISLAMABAD – A bomb blast has occurred at an Imambargah in Islamabad on Friday as there are fears of causalities. The explosion took place at the Tarlai Imambargah, located in the Shehzad Town area of the capital. Law enforcement and rescue teams have swiftly arrived at the scene and have initiated rescue efforts. In response to the incident, an emergency has been declared at key medical facilities in Islamabad, including the Polyclinic, Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), and CDA Hospital. The orthopaedic, burn centre, neurology, and main emergency departments have been activated to handle the influx of injured patients. The injured individuals are being transported to PIMS and Polyclinic Hospital for treatment. This blast comes less than three months after a suicide bombing outside a district and sessions court in the G-11 sector of Islamabad on November 11, 2025, which resulted in 12 deaths.
