Class 8 exams postponed as new schedule announced

QUETTA – The Education Department of Balochistan has officially postponed the class 8th exams in the province due to severe cold weather and ongoing rainfall in the colder regions. A formal announcement was made by the Director of Education Balochistan, who stated that the decision to delay the exams was taken in light of the inclement weather conditions and to ensure the safety and convenience of the students. The exams were originally scheduled to begin on January 26. However, these were delayed due to weather conditions in order to ensure the safety of students and staff. An official notification states, “It is hereby notified that the Director of Education (Schools), Balochistan is pleased to postpone the said examination due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, on the request of the concerned District Education Officers and parents”. New Schedule of Class 8 Exams A revised schedule for the exams has also been released. Furthermore, District Education Officers (DEOs) have been instructed to ensure timely communication of the new exam dates to students and parents. The notification states that “now, the Middle Examination (8th Class) of the Summer Zone shall commence from 6th February. 2026.”
