CM Maryam launches ‘Rehmat Card’ for widows, orphans – How to get Rs100,000 aid

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday approved the “Rehman Card” scheme to provide financial assistance to widows and orphans across the province. While chairing a meeting, the chief minister emphasised that the government will now support this segment of society as they are no more helpless. She insisted that it is the responsibility of the government to provide support to the underprivileged individuals. Under the initiative, the government will provide Rs100,000 to each widow while Rs25,000 will be given to each orphan Where to Register for Rehmat Card The eligible people are required to visit any nearby office of the Zakat and Ushr Department across the Punjab for registering in the Rehmat Card Scheme. Meanwhile, Punjab Information Minister, Azma Bukhari, announced that the provincial government has successfully transferred aid to 3 million people under the Ramadan Nigahban Programme. She added that the target of reaching 4 million people is expected to be achieved in the coming days. Minister Bukhari highlighted the ongoing efforts to support underprivileged individuals, stating that Maryam Nawaz’s iftar initiatives across the province are providing meals to thousands daily. She reaffirmed that various steps are being taken to assist deserving individuals during the holy month.
