ISLAMABAD – Sigh of relief for Sindh government employees as March salaries, pensions, and allowances will be released earlier than usual ahead of festive celebrations. According to the official announcement, all Muslim government employees and pensioners, including those serving in work-charged and contingent paid positions, will receive their full salaries, pensions, and allowances on March 16, 2026. The decision aims to ensure that families have sufficient funds for Eid shopping, household needs, and celebrations, as the Shawwal moon sighting is expected around March 20 or 21, which will mark the arrival of Eid ul Fitr. Officials say the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting public servants and retirees, ensuring they can access their funds on time and prepare comfortably for the important religious festival. Meanwhile, similar steps have also been taken by the federal government and the Punjab government, both of which have confirmed that March 2026 salaries and pensions will also be paid in advance to assist employees and pensioners ahead of Eid. In Punjab, Finance Department has confirmed that government employees and pensioners will receive their payments on March 16, earlier than the usual schedule. The move is intended to help families manage their expenses and make timely preparations for Eid without facing financial pressure. Authorities have instructed all government departments to complete payroll and pension processing without delay so that funds are transferred to employees’ and pensioners’ accounts well before the Eid holidays begin. The announcement has been warmly welcomed by government employees and pensioners, many of whom say the early payments will make it easier to handle Eid expenses, shop for their families, and celebrate the festival with peace of mind.
