LAHORE – The Lahore Arts Council Alhamra is all set to host the 10th Faiz Festival from February 13 to 15, 2026. Celebrating the legacy of legendary poet and thinker Faiz Ahmed Faiz, the festival promises to be a vibrant platform for literary, cultural, and creative exchange. The three-day festival will feature poets, writers, journalists, researchers, artists, and young enthusiasts from across Pakistan. Alhamra’s halls and Barni Garden will simultaneously host literary sessions, book launches, music, theatre, dance, workshops, and interactive cultural activities, creating an immersive experience for all visitors. Notable participants include Kamran Lashari, Salima Hashmi, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Sohail Warraich, Kamil Khan Mumtaz, Shahida Dilawar, Dr. Ghaffar Shehzad, Faiqa Mansab, Dr. Serena Haq, Dr. Maria Mann, Farah Zia, Center Ali Zafar, Moin Nazami, Kishwar Naheed, Muneeza Hashmi, Adeel Hashmi, and Hanif Muhammad. The festival will also bring film, television, and performing arts icons such as Marina Khan, Asif Raza Mir, Mustafa Fareedi, alongside prominent journalists Syed Talat Hussain, Wajahatullah Khan, Wasatullah Khan, and Asad Baig for thought-provoking discussions. Special sessions will explore the relevance of Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s ideas today, covering topics like Faiz and Pakistan’s cultural policy, Faiz and Pakistan Times, Faiz and Ustad Daman, Gen Z, Gen Alfa, and more. Speakers include Dr. Anjum Altaf, Hijaz Naqvi, Sarwat Mohiuddin, Prof. Zubair Ahmed and Dr. Jawaz Jafri. Performing arts will take center stage with shows by Ajoka Theatre, Rafi Pir Theatre Workshop, Nazir Ahmed Music Society (GCU Lahore), Lal Band, Drum Circle, Open Mic sessions and performances by renowned dancer Nighat Chaudhry. Digital media, photography, and broadcasting workshops led by Yusuf Abraham and Malcolm Hutchinson will give young attendees hands-on experience in modern creative tools. The Faiz Festival 2026 highlights Alhamra as a hub for arts, literature, and dialogue, showcasing Pakistan’s peaceful, creative and intellectual spirit to the world. The festival also offers Gen Z and Gen Alpha audiences an open invitation to learn, express themselves, and actively participate in Pakistan’s literary and cultural heritage.
