Federal government Ramadan timings 2026 for offices announced

ISLAMABAD – The federal government of Pakistan has issued updated office timings for its employees for the holy month of Ramadan, which is likely to begin from February 19. According to the new schedule, government offices will now operate from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday to Thursday and they will close at 12:30 pm on Fridays. This schedule will apply to a five-day workweek. For those working six days a week, the office hours will be slightly adjusted. From Monday to Thursday and Saturday, employees will work from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Fridays, however, will have shorter office hours, with the working day scheduled from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. These changes are part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline operations and improve efficiency within public service departments during Ramadan 2026. Earlier, the Sindh government officially announced the working hours for government offices during the holy month of Ramadan 2026. A formal notification issued by the provincial government outlines the adjusted timings for the month of fasting. According to the notification, government offices will operate from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, the offices will remain open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, ensuring shorter work hours to accommodate the spiritual practices of the holy month. The notification, approved by the Chief Secretary of Sindh, applies to all government departments, autonomous bodies, private institutions, and local councils within the province. The provincial authorities have also directed relevant officials to ensure strict adherence to the prescribed office hours throughout Ramadan to facilitate smooth functioning of public services
