Field Marshal Asim Munir, Turkish General reaffirm security ties in key talks

ISLAMABAD – Chief of Turkish General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, COAS and CDF of Pakistan at General Headquarters (GHQ) today, showing unprecedented reinforcement of Pakistan-Turkiye defence ties, ISPR said. Turkish general was accorded ceremonial guard of honour, showcasing the precision and professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces. The high-level discussions covered a wide spectrum, including regional and global security dynamics, avenues to enhance military cooperation, and strategies to further cement bilateral defence collaboration. Both leaders expressed strong satisfaction with the current trajectory of Pakistan-Turkiye relations, emphasising the need for closer coordination and deeper defence engagement. Field Marshal Munir underscored historic brotherhood between Islamabad and Ankara, rooted in shared heritage, mutual trust, and enduring people-to-people connections. He lauded the Turkish Armed Forces’ continued support and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding military-to-military ties.
