KARACHI – Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has decided to adjust the gas supply schedule for Ramadan as ongoing Middle East tensions have disrupted LNG imports. Reports said the company will revert to last year’s Ramadan schedule. Gas supply for Iftar will be available from 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm, while for Sehri it will run from 3:00 am to 9:00 am. Officials indicated that the revised gas schedule will be officially announced soon. Karachi is facing a severe gas crisis due to disruptions in LNG imports from Qatar, reportedly linked to tensions between the US and Iran. Several areas of the city, including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Scheme 33, Jamshed Road, Shadman Town, Nishtar Road, Martin Quarters, Jahangir Road, Amil Colony, Lasbela, and parts of Korangi, are experiencing extended gas load shedding for the second consecutive day. This comes despite government plans to provide uninterrupted gas supply from 3:00 am to 10:00 pm during Ramadan.
