Gold ends six-day gaining streak in Pakistan; Check new prices

KARACHI – Gold prices recorded a slight decline on Thursday, ending its six-day gaining streak, amid downward trend in international market. Data shared by All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association showed per tola gold price plunged by Rs700 to reach Rs540,562. Similarly, the price of 10-gram decreased by Rs600, bringing new rates to Rs463,444. The precious commodity witnessed a decline of $7 to reach $5,178 per ounce. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a positive surge, closing with a notable gain of 2.59%. The benchmark index closed at 168,893.08, marking an increase of 4,266.79 points from the previous session’s close. The day’s trading saw a high of 169,374.27, with the index dipping to a low of 162,953.63 during intra-day fluctuations. A total of 355,320,144 shares were traded, reflecting a healthy level of market activity. The previous market close stood at 164,626.29, and today’s rally is seen as a positive sign for investor sentiment. With the market trading in positive territory, analysts suggest that this uptick could signal renewed confidence among investors, although caution is advised as volatility remains a feature of the market.
