Gold prices in Pakistan see sharp rise following US-Israel strike on Iran

KARACHI – Gold prices in Pakistan witnessed a sharp increase on Saturday as investors interest in safe-haven investment surged following a joint attack by the US and Israel on Iran. According to Sarafa Association, the price of per tola gold moved up by Rs10,000, bringing new rate to Rs540,562. The price of 10-gram gold saw an increase of Rs8,574 to reach Rs463,444. The precious commodity also recorded a significant increase in international bullion market where per ounce rate surged by $100 to climb to $5,278. Silver prices in Pakistan also saw a sharp rise with per tola price increasing by Rs388 to reach Rs9,862. The price for 10-gram of silver moved up by Rs333 to reach Rs8,455. A day earlier, the price of gold remained unchanged at Rs 540,562 on Friday as compared to the previous trading day. The price of 10-grams gold also witnessed no change and was traded at Rs 463,444. Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs 270 to Rs 9,474, whereas that of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs 232 to Rs 8,122.
