Good news for Matric students of Arts Group in Punjab

LAHORE – The Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) has changed its admission criteria for the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) programme, allowing students with a background in Arts subjects to apply for the engineering diploma. The new policy marks a significant shift in the eligibility rules, previously limited to students who completed their matriculation in Science subjects. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Minister for Industry and Commerce of Punjab, Chaudhry Shafaat Hussain. The meeting focused on the implementation of the board’s six-point agenda, which included the review of previous decisions and approval of several key initiatives. Among the key decisions was the approval of a 50% medical allowance for family pensioners of retired employees. This will provide much-needed financial support to the families of retirees, ensuring their well-being during challenging times. Matric, Inter Exams Schedule 2026 The Punjab boars have announced new schedule for matric and intermediate annual exams 2026 due to holy month of Ramazan and Eidul Fitr. As per latest announcement, the matric exams will be conducted by BISE Lahore and others from March 27 instead of previously scheduled March 3. Furthermore, the intermediate board exams 2026 will commence from May 20. The boards have also shared the schedule of submitting admission forms. Students can submit their admission forms with single fee till February 11 while double fee will apply from Feb 24. The applicants will be able to submit their admission forms by March 9, 2026 with triple fee. As per the official announcement, the board exams for matric class in Lahore and other divisions will start from March 27 (Friday). Previously, it had been announced that exams will start from March 3.
