Google has introduced a special doodle to mark the start of the Super Eight stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, drawing widespread attention from cricket fans worldwide. The vibrant doodle, designed in bold colors with striking shapes and a 3D style, reflects the excitement, pace, and thrill associated with T20 cricket. The Super Eight stage of the tournament’s 10th edition, which began on February 7, will officially get underway today with a high-stakes clash between Pakistan and New Zealand. Featuring 20 teams, the event is being described as one of the most competitive tournaments in cricket history. The group stage witnessed several thrilling and unexpected encounters. The Netherlands and the United States posed serious challenges to major teams such as Pakistan and India, while England struggled against associate nations. Australia were eliminated from the tournament after suffering defeats to Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Meanwhile, Italy — competing in a World Cup for the first time — secured their maiden victory. Zimbabwe remained unbeaten in the group stage against Australia, Sri Lanka, and Oman, while their match against Ireland was washed out due to rain. In the Super Eight stage, Group One comprises India, South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe, while Group Two features Pakistan, England, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. It may be mentioned here that all four teams in Group One have remained unbeaten so far in the tournament. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for March 4 and 5, while the final will be played on March 8 in Ahmedabad or Colombo.
