The International Center for Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Prevention (ICADRP) has successfully concluded its flagship 40-Hour Signature Mediation Training Program, held concurrently in Karachi and Islamabad this February. Conducted at the Sindh Judicial Academy and at the Federal Judicial Academy, the intensive program brought together a diverse cohort of legal and professional leaders from across Pakistan. The dual-city training created a dynamic and practice-focused learning environment, uniting judges and professionals across career stages. Participants included lawyers, in-house counsel, ADR practitioners, judicial officers, regulators, civil servants, HR professionals, and business leaders—each contributing unique perspectives to the mediation process. Designed to meet international standards while responding to local dispute resolution needs, the 40-hour program emphasized experiential learning. Through simulated mediations, role-plays, and structured feedback sessions, participants developed core competencies in negotiation strategy, conflict analysis, communication techniques, ethics, and settlement drafting. Faculty members underscored the importance of mediation as a timely, cost-effective, and relationship-preserving alternative to litigation. The training also highlighted the evolving role of judicial institutions and legal professionals in promoting a culture of consensual dispute resolution in Pakistan. Participants praised the program’s interactive design and practical orientation.
