Inspector General of Police Punjab, Abdul Kareem, chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office to review progress on police reform targets set by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. Senior officers briefed the IGP on the implementation of the short-, medium-, and long-term reform matrix outlined by the Chief Minister. During the meeting, the IGP emphasized that citizens visiting police stations, front desks, KhidmatMarakaz, and other police offices must be treated with dignity and respect at all times. The IGP directed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally contact citizens on a daily basis to seek feedback regarding police conduct and ensure timely corrective measures. He ordered strict action against officers responsible for unjustified delays in FIR registration, weak investigations, or complaints of misconduct. Reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy, the IGP stated that corruption, abuse of authority, and misconduct would not be tolerated under any circumstances, and no individual would be granted exemption. Meanwhile, Inspector General Police Punjab Abdul Kareem continued the series of direct engagement with citizens by speaking with them over the phone at the 1787 Complaint Center and conducted a detailed review of received requests and complaints. IGP Punjab Abdul Kareem inquired from citizens regarding police action, investigation standards, conduct, and progress on their requests and issued immediate orders to the concerned officers.
