Imran Khan files petition in IHC for medical treatment of his eye condition

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court seeking permission for medical treatment for his eye condition. Imran Khan filed the petition through his lawyer Advocate Sardar Latif Khosa and urged the court to transfer Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for specialized treatment. Imran Khan asked the court to allow him access to his personal doctors, Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim, for medical care. According to the plea, Imran Khan is suffering from a severe eye disease diagnosed by Dr. Muhammad Arif of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Doctors have confirmed that blood clots have severely damaged his right eye, leaving only 15 percent vision intact. The petition emphasized that adequate treatment is not possible within the prison. The plea further stated that the 73-year-old leader requires release on bail to receive proper medical care.
