‘Imran Khan has sent a message that he cannot see,’ claims Aleema Khan

RAWALPINDI – Aleema Khan has said that her brother, former prime minister Imran Khan, has conveyed a message stating that he was unable to see due to vision problems and wanted his personal doctors to be granted access to examine him. Speaking to the media near Dahgal checkpoint close to Adiala Jail, Aleema Khan said she and other family members were once again denied a meeting with the PTI founder. She alleged that Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement. According to her, Imran Khan has requested that his private physicians be allowed to assess his health condition. She maintained that the family would not rely on any official account of his health until his personal doctors are permitted to examine him. Aleema Khan further demanded that a comprehensive medical check-up be conducted in the presence of family members and his chosen doctors. She said the family would not accept assurances unless he is shifted to a hospital for proper evaluation. Imran Khan’s sister, Dr. Uzma, also spoke to the media, saying that if there is any medical condition, it should be made public rather than being concealed. PIMS Update on Imran Khan’s Health Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan received was injected with second dose of intravitreal injection of Anti VEGF under guidance of microscopy during his follow-up visit to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad. Khan was transported to hospital in early hours of Wednesday from Adiala Jail where he has been detained for over two years in multiple cases. Following his visit, PIMS issued a press release, stating: “Mr Imran Ahmed Khan Niazi s/o Ikram Ullah Khan Niazi, age 74 years was brought to PIMS for follow up eye-treatment i.e. second dose of anti VEGF intra vitreal injection on 24 February, 2026”. Prior to the procedure he was examined by a board of specialists: Consultant Cardiologist who also performed Echocardiography and ECG with results coming normal, and and Consultant Physician. “Mr Imran Khan was found to be clinically stable,” read the press release. “After obtaining informed consent, and under standard monitoring, precautionary measures and protocols in the operation theatre, he was injected with second dose of intravitreal injection of Anti VEGF under guidance of microscopy by Consultant Ophthalmologist, and Consultant Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon of PIMS and Al Shifa Eye Hospital. The procedure was performed as a day care surgery.” During the course of his stay, he remained vitally stable before, during and after the procedure, and was discharged along with instructions for care, follow up advice, and the documents, it added.
