ISLAMABAD – Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has filed a bail petition in the Islamabad High Court, seeking suspension of his sentence in the Toshakhana-II case due to a serious medical condition affecting his right eye. The petition, submitted by lawyers Barrister Salman Safdar and Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, also included a miscellaneous request for an early hearing regarding the suspension of his sentence in the 190 million-pound case. According to the plea, Imran Khan is suffering from a severe eye disease diagnosed by Dr. Muhammad Arif of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Doctors have confirmed that blood clots have severely damaged his right eye, leaving only 15 percent vision intact. The petition emphasized that adequate treatment is not possible within the prison. The plea further stated that the 73-year-old leader requires release on bail to receive proper medical care. Barrister Salman Safdar told journalists that Imran Khan had informed him that PIMS doctors, after conducting tests and research, confirmed that he has lost 85 percent of vision in his right eye. The Islamabad High Court will hear the petition in the coming days.
