ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information Ata Tarar has confirmed that former Prime Minister Imran Khan was recently taken to PIMS hospital for a routine eye check-up, following a medical examination by eye specialists at Adiala Jail last week. In an official statement to state television, Ata Tarar explained that after the eye specialists conducted their initial assessment, they recommended further evaluation, which led to Khan being transferred to PIMS. The medical procedure, which focused on his eye health, lasted for approximately 20 minutes. Following the check-up, Khan was returned to Adiala Jail with the necessary instructions for continued care. Tarar reassured the public, saying, “Imran Khan is in stable health, and there is no cause for concern.” He also clarified that all prisoners, including Khan, are provided access to medical care in line with prison regulations, adding that the former prime minister is in good health. This confirmation came after days of circulating rumors on social media regarding Khan’s hospitalization. The government had not previously issued an official statement, and Ata Tarar’s remarks have now cleared up the speculation surrounding his health.
