MUMBAI – The Indian cricket team has reportedly shifted hotels ahead of the T20 World Cup final, citing superstition as the reason for the move. The Indian media reported that the team decided not to stay at the same hotel where they were accommodated during the ICC T20 World Cup 2023 final, in which they lost to Australia. Sources suggest the players believe their previous defeat was linked to that hotel stay, reflecting what experts describe as extreme superstition. A key member of India’s support staff reportedly prays at every venue for the team’s success, while the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is providing all possible facilities to boost the team’s chances in the final. Earlier, ahead of the semi-finals, the team had delayed a training session in Mumbai by 45 minutes to avoid the perceived effects of a lunar eclipse. India’s only defeat in this tournament so far came against South Africa in Ahmedabad. For the upcoming final, the pitch may be prepared in a manner similar to the semi-final against England to provide favorable conditions for the Indian side.
