TEHRAN – Iran has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) alerting pilots, flight crews and other airspace users about planned rocket launches in its southern regions, advising them to exercise caution and follow safety measures in the relevant affected areas. The latest reports suggested that earlier this week, Iran conducted naval exercises in the Strait of Hormuz and has scheduled joint naval drills with Russia starting Thursday. These maneuvers are being closely monitored amid rising regional tensions. The NOTAM comes at a time when the United States has already deployed warships near Iranian waters, heightening concerns over potential military escalation in the region. Iranian authorities have urged all aircraft operating in or near the designated areas to remain vigilant and strictly adhere to the safety instructions outlined in the notice to avoid any accidents during the rocket launch activities. The analysts considered these developments significant, given the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and the broader context of ongoing regional tensions between Iran, the US, and its allies. US aircraft carrier moves closer to Iran ahead of nuclear talks in Geneva The United States significantly bolstered its military presence in the Middle East, with the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier now positioned even closer to Iranian waters. The carrier is now positioned just 240 kilometers off the Iranian coast, a considerable reduction from the previous 700 kilometers. This move came amid rising tensions in the region and signals an increased readiness for any potential conflict. The US military, according to international media reports has the capability to carry out up to 800 airstrikes per day, a strategy designed to deter any possible Iranian retaliation. However, some media reports suggested that Iran’s military is all set to deal with any foreign aggression or war like sitaution. They suggested that the attack on Israel or close bases of US military would face serious attacks. This enhanced military positioning, coupled with the growing presence of US forces in the region, is expected to bolster America’s military superiority and ensure swift response capabilities should the situation deteriorate. In parallel, US President Donald Trump has indicated that he will play an indirect role in the upcoming nuclear talks between the US and Iran, set to take place in Geneva. Speaking to reporters, Trump emphasized that while he would not be directly involved, he would still contribute to the negotiation process. He also added that while Iran has historically taken a hardline stance during talks, the aftermath of US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities last year appears to have made Tehran more open to diplomacy. President Trump remarked that Iran now seems more serious about negotiations and could be interested in reaching a deal. He also clarified that the US is not involved in the ongoing disputes between Saudi Arabia and the UAE. However, Trump said he is ready to play role in resolving the issue if necessary.
