ISLAMABAD – The Islamabad Police has issued strict security guidelines for mosques and Imambargahs in the federal capital, placing particular emphasis on preventing beggary and unauthorized street vending outside religious sites. The police said that the sale of items such as street carts, caps, and other goods outside mosque gates is now prohibited. Beggars and unauthorized vendors will not be allowed near the entrances, ensuring a secure environment for worshippers. The notice also mandates that each mosque must deploy at least one armed security guard during prayer times, with permission to carry weapons within the mosque premises. Entry and exit points will be strictly controlled, with a single designated route for entering and leaving the mosque or Imambargah. Parking around the premises is also banned. The authorities have instructed mosque management to immediately report any suspicious person, activity, or object to the police. The directive emphasizes that all instructions must be followed without delay, and violations will result in legal action. The Islamabad Police stated that these measures aim to enhance the safety of worshippers and prevent any potential security threats, while also maintaining order outside religious sites by controlling beggary and street vending.
