More intermittent rain is likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and parts of Pakistan on Tuesday evening and night. Snowfall is also expected in the hilly areas of the country during the period. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. It will likely persist over the northern parts till tomorrow. Forecast: Under these conditions, more intermittent rain with snowfall over the hills is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday evening and night. Heavy rain with moderate to heavy snowfall is also likely at isolated places. Cloudy weather accompanied by more isolated rain is likely in the twin cities, Northeastern Punjab, Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Northern Balochistan. Cold and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the country. On Wednesday and Thursday, cold and dry weather is expected over most parts of the country, while freezing weather is expected in hilly areas. Cold winds are expected in a few areas of the country. Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain/snow may occur in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan. Impacts: Heavy snowfall may cause road closures/ slippery conditions in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli.
