Kashmir Bakers, American Lyceum among 134 sealed in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 134 illegal commercial buildings and the premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in Lahore’s various housing schemes on Monday. LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 19 buildings in Gulberg and Faisal Town, 27 in Township, 31 in Samanabad, 22 in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town, and 35 in Naz Town during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees. The sealed premises include Kashmir Bakers & Sweets, American Lyceum, Heaven Kids’ School System, Pak Vision College, Huda Foundation, Al-Hamd School of Sciences, Township Sports Club, grocery stores, pharmacies, food outlets, offices, and other businesses. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations. LDA’s enforcement and security teams carried out these operations with the assistance of the Police. According to the LDA officials, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before carrying out these operations. LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed the continuation of indiscriminate operations against illegal commercial use and non-payment of commercialisation fees in LDA-controlled areas and Lahore’s housing schemes. Cakes & Bakes, Bundu Khan, Häagen-Dazs among 54 sealed in Lahore
