Intermittent light rain with snowfall over the hills is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday evening and night. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. Continental air prevails over other parts of the country. Forecast: Under these conditions, intermittent light rain with snowfall is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Abbottabad, Haripur, Battagram, Shangla, Malakand, Bajaur, Parachinar, and Kohistan on Friday evening and night. Cold and partly cloudy weather is likely elsewhere in the province. On Saturday and Sunday, cold and dry weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of the province. Freezing weather is expected in the upper districts. Temperatures: Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 04°C and 06°C on Saturday and Sunday. Past Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and across most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper parts. However, partly cloudy weather with rain occurred in isolated areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rainfall (mm): Parachinar 02, Dir 01 Kalam remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 04°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Malam Jabba was recorded at -03°C, and in Dir at -01°C. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 82 per cent.
