Intermittent light rain with snowfall is expected in the upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday evening and night, and on Friday as well. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly prevails over the western parts of Pakistan. It will start affecting the upper parts tonight. Continental air prevails over other parts of the country. Forecast: Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Peshawar and most districts of the province on Thursday evening and night. Light rain with snowfall is expected at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Parachinar, and Waziristan. On Friday, cold and partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rain with light snowfall is likely at isolated places in Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Haripur, Battagram, Shangla, Swat, Kalam, Orakzai, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Parachinar, and Kohistan. Temperatures: Peshawar’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 07°C and 09°C on Friday and between 06°C and 08°C on Saturday. Past Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper districts. Kalam remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 05°C below the freezing point. Minimum temperature in Malam Jabba was recorded at -04°C and in Dir at -01°C.
