Lahore, Murree, Punjab Weather: Intermittent rain, hailstorms expected

Partly cloudy to cloudy weather with intermittent rain and hailstorms is expected in parts of Punjab on Monday evening and night, and on Tuesday. Snowfall is also expected in Murree and Galiyat during the period. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is affecting the western parts of Pakistan, which may persist over the upper parts till tomorrow. Forecast: Under these conditions, cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province on Monday evening and night. Light to moderate rain is expected in the Potohar region, Jhang, Noorpur Thal, Khushab, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Bhakkar and Mianwali. Hailstorms may also occur in isolated places. Light to moderate rain with snowfall is expected in Murree and Galiyat. Gusty winds are likely in southern districts. On Tuesday, cold and dry weather is expected in most districts of the province. Light to moderate rain is expected in the Potohar region. Light to moderate rain with snowfall is expected in Murree and Galiyat. Shallow fog (in patches) may develop in Sheikhupura, Narowal, Sialkot and surrounding areas during morning hours. Impacts: Snowfall is likely to cause traffic disruptions & slippery conditions in Murree and Galiyat. Tourists are advised to take precautions during the forecast period. Temperatures: Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 12°C and 14°C on Tuesday and Wednesday. Murree’s minimum temperature will likely remain between -01°C and 01°C on Tuesday and Wednesday. Past Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of the province during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in Murree and Galiyat. Murree remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 01°C below the freezing point. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 57 per cent.
