Lahore, Punjab Weather Update: Intermittent rain predicted

Intermittent rain is predicted in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday evening and night, as well as on Tuesday. Moderate to heavy snowfall is also predicted in Murree and Galiyat during the period. Synoptic Situation: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is prevailing over western Pakistan. It will likely persist over the upper parts till tomorrow. Forecast: Under these conditions, partly cloudy weather is predicted in most districts of the province on Monday evening and night. Rains and gusty winds are predicted in Layyah, Bhakkar, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Khanpur, Multan, Jhang, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Chiniot, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Okara. Freezing and partly cloudy weather with rain and snowfall is expected in Murree, Galiyat and surroundings. On Tuesday, more rain is likely in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Gujrat, Gujranwala and surrounding areas. Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in northeastern Punjab. Freezing and partly cloudy weather with rain and moderate to heavy snowfall is predicted in Murree, Galiyat and surroundings. Cold and dry weather is likely elsewhere in the province. Heavy snowfall may cause road closures/ slippery conditions in Murree and Galiyat. Tourists are advised to remain extra cautious and avoid unnecessary travel during the forecast period. Temperatures: Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 06°C and 08°C on Tuesday and between 07°C and 09°C on Wednesday. Past Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province. Freezing weather prevailed in the upper districts during the last 24 hours. Murree remained the coldest place in the province, where the temperature dropped 02°C below the freezing point. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 49 per cent.
