Lahore to host first ‘Ramzan Bachat Festival’ at Jilani Park from Feb 13

LAHORE – Ahead of start of the holy month, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) has announced holding the Ramzan Bachat Festival at Jilani Park from February 13 to 15 in order to provide relief to masses. The initiative aims to offer essential items at discounted prices, providing much-needed relief to citizens ahead of the holy month. A key meeting was held under the leadership of PFA DG Asim Javed to discuss the festival’s details with all relevant stakeholders. During the meeting, Asim Javed outlined the festival’s goals and announced the establishment of relief stalls offering key items such as flour, ghee, pulses, sugar, rice, fruits, vegetables, and other essentials at subsidized rates. To ensure food safety and maintain high standards, the food authority will implement special arrangements during the festival. There will be strict monitoring of food supplies and prices at all stalls, ensuring quality and affordability. Javed also highlighted that alongside food stalls, the festival will feature displays of local culture and traditions, offering visitors a chance to enjoy shopping as well as entertainment. Ramzan 2026 Start Date If Shaban lasts for 29 days, the first day of Ramzan will fall on February 19, 2026. However, if Shaban spans 30 days, Ramzan will begin on February 20, 2026. The final confirmation of Ramzan’s start date will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will hold a meeting at the end of Shaban to review testimonies and make the decision based on moon sightings.
