MCB Bank, The Educators among 104 buildings sealed in Lahore

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 104 illegal commercial buildings and the premises that defaulted on commercialisation fees in Lahore’s various housing schemes and LDA-controlled areas yesterday. LDA’s Town Planning Wing sealed 53 buildings in Johar Town, Iqbal Avenue and Green Acre Housing Scheme, 19 in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 18 in Subzazar and Government Superior Services Housing Scheme, and 14 in Muslim Town, during operations against illegal commercial use and nonpayment of commercialisation fees. The sealed premises include MCB Bank, The Educators, Dar-e-Arqam School, Riviera Makeup Studio, AK Cricket Club, Awan Estate & Builders, grocery stores, food points, offices, and other businesses. LDA Chief Town Planner I, Assad-uz-Zaman, and Chief Town Planner II, Azhar Ali, supervised the operations in their respective jurisdictions. LDA’s enforcement and security teams carried out these operations with the assistance of the Police. According to LDA spokespersons, several notices were served on the owners of these buildings before the operations were carried out.
