KARACHI – State Bank of Pakistan revealed official Ramadan operating hours for all commercials banks. The central bank issued the directive via a statement on social media platform X, and the new timings are effective immediately. According to the notification, all banks will remain open for public dealing from Monday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, ensuring uninterrupted service throughout the day. On Fridays, banking hours will be slightly shorter, running from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Bank Timings during Ramzan Day Banking Hours Monday–Thursday 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Friday 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM What makes this announcement even more remarkable is the State Bank’s confirmation that there will be no breaks during these hours. Yes, you read that right, all banks across the country will operate continuously without any interruption, allowing customers to carry out transactions smoothly throughout Ramadan. Bank customers are urged to plan their visits according to these timings to avoid long queues and ensure hassle-free service during the holy month. The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealings on 1st Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, 1447 A.H., which shall be observed as “Bank Holiday” for deduction of Zakat. All public and private banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks shall, therefore, remain closed for public dealing on the afore-mentioned date.
