New price announced: Electricity buyback rate for solar consumers reduced

LAHORE – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has reduced the electricity buyback rates for solar consumers under its net metering policy. According to the tariff approved by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), the price for electricity exported from solar systems has been reduced by 66 paisa to Rs25.32 per unit. This decision follows a recent notification from NEPRA, which instructed all Distribution Companies (DISCOs) to lower the rates at which they purchase electricity from solar consumers. As a result, the price of exported units has been reduced by 66 paisa per unit. LESCO’s Directorate of Information Technology issued a directive to its customer services department, instructing them to adjust the credit given to solar consumers for their exported units at the new rate starting this month. New Solar Electricity Unit Rate The LESCO has fixed the buyback rate at Rs25.32 per unit for solar consumers after approval from the Nepra.
