ISLAMABAD – As Ramadan begins, schools in Islamabad announced new timings to help students balance studies with fasting. With classes running from 8:30 AM and early closures on Fridays, students and teachers can focus on their prayers, family gatherings, while staying on track academically. In a notification, School Education Department announced new school hours designed to help students balance academics with fasting. Schools will now run from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM, giving students lighter day while fasting. On Fridays, schools will close even earlier at 12:30 PM, and teachers will enjoy Saturdays off throughout Ramadan, allowing families more time for spiritual and social activities. Ramadan 2026 is expected to start in Pakistan on February 19, subject to moon sighting confirmation. The holy month involves daily fasting from dawn to sunset, combined with increased prayer, Qur’an recitation, and charitable acts.
