Security sources confirm that the situation remains highly volatile, with the Pakistan Army launching a strong retaliatory operation after alleged aggression. Reports suggest that Pakistani forces targeted and destroyed multiple checkpoints allegedly operated by the Taliban in area. According to security officials, at least three additional Taliban fighters have been eliminated in latest action, adding to earlier claims that the total number of casualties among the militant group could be around 30. Sources stressed that operation is part of Pakistan’s firm stance on border security, with authorities reiterating that any form of aggression will be met with swift and decisive response. Officials maintain that forces remain on high alert to safeguard the border and prevent further hostilities. On the social media platform X, he claimed that several Pakistani military posts were destroyed and some were taken over. He also claimed that 55 Pakistani personnel were killed in the Taliban operation “Heavy losses inflicted” in response to Taliban aggression: PM spox Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s spokesperson for foreign media, Musharraf Zaidi, stated that no Pakistani post was damaged or captured in border clashes with the Taliban. In a post on X, he claimed that Pakistan had inflicted “heavy losses” on the Taliban in response to their “aggression”. Earlier, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid had claimed that their forces destroyed and captured Pakistani posts and killed several security personnel.
