The military has taken control of several Afghan positions, including one in Paktika province, after fierce clashes. Notably, Afghan Taliban fighters were forced to retreat, leaving behind key military installations that were subsequently demolished by Pakistani forces. The operation also saw airstrikes by the Pakistan Air Force, which successfully targeted and destroyed major ammunition depots in Nangarhar and Kandahar, crucial logistical hubs for the Taliban. In addition, Pakistani forces neutralized multiple Taliban drone strikes aimed at security posts along the border. In the aftermath of the military action, Taliban militants resorted to indiscriminate shelling of civilian areas. Several mortar rounds fired by the Taliban landed in Bajaur, injuring five people, including three women. The shelling also damaged a mosque in the region, adding to the growing humanitarian concerns.
