Operation Ghazab lil Haq: Pakistani forces kill 331 Afghan Taliban personnel, destroy over 100 posts

ISLAMABAD – As Operation Ghazab lil-Haq continues, Pakistani forces have eliminated 331 Afghan Taliban fighters and terrorists while 104 check posts have been destroyed. Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar shared the latest update about losses suffered by the Afghan Taliban on social media platform X. Tarar said over 500 Afghan Taliban were injured in the counterstrikes being launched by Pakistani forces since yesterday in response to unprovoked attack by the Taliban regime. The minister confirmed that 22 Afghan posts have so far been captured with 163 tanks and armed vehicles have been destroyed. He also stated that 37 locations were targeted across Afghanistan by air amid ongoing operation. Trump Praises Pakistan US Donald Trump made a statement regarding Pakistan’s military response to Afghan Taliban aggression in the region. POTUS indicated that he would consider involvement if requested, saying his strong diplomatic ties with Pakistan and praising its leadership and military establishment. He stressed that Islamabad has been performing “terrifically well,” reinforcing his respect for the nation’s governance and strategic role in regional stability. DG ISPR Presser A day earlier, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry addressed a press conference and said 12 soldiers martyred, 27 injured in an operation against Afghanistan. Another 27 were injured while one soldier remains missing in action. Pakistani forces hit 22 strategic locations in Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia, Nangarhar, Khost, and Paktika, sites described as military command centers and logistics hubs of the Taliban. Authorities claim strikes dismantled battalion and sector headquarters, destroyed weapons and tank positions, and neutralized infrastructure allegedly used for cross-border operations. Pakistan’s military spokesperson issued a stark warning that those responsible for terrorism against the state “will not remain safe anywhere,” underscoring a hardline stance on militant threats. Meanwhile, Afghan sources and social media narratives continue to dispute the claims, alleging civilian harm—charges Islamabad firmly denies. Security on High Alert The security is high alert across the country amid the current border situation at Pakistan and Afghanistan border, the sources close to the development said on Friday. The police chiefs of all provinces and states have directed for strict security measures amid the current sitaution. The other law enforcement agencies are also holding proper coordination about security. The Punjab has also expedited the deportation process of illegally residing foreign nationals across the province. A spokesperson for the Punjab Police said that a total of 32,588 illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals, have been deported from various districts, including Lahore. Another 90 individuals are currently present at designated holding centres awaiting repatriation. The deported individuals comprise 12,273 men, 6,661 women and 13,654 children. Officials said 10,419 of those deported possessed proof of residence, 11,098 were holders of Afghan Citizen Cards, while 11,071 were categorised as illegal foreign residents.
