Youth Development Association hosts Christmas celebration for underprivileged children
The Youth Development Association organised a vibrant and spirit-filled Christmas celebration, bringing together slum children, a community school, partner institutions and media representatives to commemorate the true message of Christmas — hope, peace and joy.
The programme began with a welcome message and highlighted the significance of Christmas as a time of light, unity and compassion. This was followed by a prayer, seeking blessings for peace and harmony.
A Bible reading and reflection from Isaiah was presented, emphasising the message of light overcoming darkness and the promise of hope for all humanity.
The cultural segment featured a series of engaging and heartwarming performances by students of St Mary's Education Centre. An Urdu Christmas carol was jointly performed by the Youth Development Association (YDA) youth.
Students of St Mary's School presented a Christmas carol and tableau, followed by a meaningful Nativity performance by the Sunday School of St Paul Orthodox Church.
The audience was further delighted by a Christmas carol performed with musical instruments by St Mary's students, as well as another carol and tableau presented by Sunday School children, showcasing the enthusiasm and talent of young participants. The celebrations continued with a YDA staff performance on an English Christmas carol, reflecting teamwork and festive spirit.
