ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) officially announced that every member of the national hockey team will receive a daily allowance of $115 during international duty. Sport Board directed Finance Department that “these payments must be made before the team’s departure, ensuring players face no financial worries during the tour.” Speaking to media, PSB DG Yasir Peerzada confirmed that the daily allowance is fully approved under the government-sanctioned budget and will be applicable for Pakistan’s participation in the FIH Pro League. He revealed that despite financial challenges, PSB reallocated funds from various savings to make these payments possible, guaranteeing top-notch arrangements for players on foreign soil. National hockey team captain Imad Butt and other players welcomed the announcement, thanking Peerzada for personally addressing player concerns. He highlighted that “previous discussions on various matters have now yielded positive results” and praised the new daily rate as reasonable and timely, emphasizing that the long-standing daily allowance issue has finally been resolved. The stage is set for action-packed hockey as Pakistan takes on Australia on February 10, Germany on February 11, returns to face Australia on February 13, and clashes again with Germany on February 14 in the second phase of the FIH Pro League. With financial worries off the table, Pakistan’s hockey heroes can now focus entirely on victory – and fans are eagerly waiting to see them shine on the global stage.
